About The Author
“Tell me what you want, and you tell me who you are…” The Taming of the Rose.
RJ Civile wants children to be innocent and protected, and he wants to bask in the joy of their infectious laughter; wants the elderly people who think themselves useless to feel valued and cherished; wants the unlovable to feel love; wants human hunger and loneliness vanquished; wants hate and violence to have no place in the human condition; wants every hurting heart to experience unconditional healing; and wants all of God’s children to know the omnipresent Creator of all existence loves each one of us in a unique and specific way, and created us to love each other as brothers and sisters in that same vein. He is still humbled and inspired with each morning sunrise watched from a quiet beach in any and every season. He believes that mercy is the heart of love; that an act of forgiveness confirms the divinity that exists in each of us. Although he has formally attended twelve years of parochial education, four years each of college and law school, his best education was achieved through reading, observing, listening, playing, working, traveling (nationally and internationally) and participating in the experience known as life – and making more mistakes than he cares to recall and being wrong more times than he’d like to remember. He was born and raised in New Jersey but has also lived up in Massachusetts for a spell and out on Long Island for a decade or so. Mother Theresa remains his real-life hero and role model. He is most thankful for his parents – his mom, who never did a selfish act in her life, and his dad, who was a man of irrefutable integrity – for his six siblings, his extended family, and his many friendships. His life’s pride and joy are his two sons and his granddaughter and grandson. All the blessings are too numerous to mention. He lives by the beach with his best bud, his dog Beckett, who puts up with his ardent attempts at singing and playing piano in return for numerous treats and long walks. Obviously, RJ is the resounding winner of that arrangement.
